Adopting a school is common throughout the United States. This means a business, group, or individual decides to help make this a better world by giving back to society some of their good fortune. They donate their resources -- their time, funds, and/or products -- to support students and staff in a particular school. Usually, it is a school in their own community. Ummm. What about other parts of the world where schools don't have our resources? Didn't Christ die on the cross for them, too?
There are many schools in the third world who would love to be adopted. I've seen many myself. One that stands out in my mind who I pray this message will encourage someone to help is a very special, private all-girls secondary boarding school in Kenya. It was established in 1970, and is situated at Sagana Town, 90 Km from Nairobi along Nairobi-Nyeri Highway/Sagana Embu Road.
I have witnessed the awesome work their staff is doing -- morally, spiriturally, and academically -- myself the last couple of times on my way back from our family reunion in Sagana, Kenya.
